day 57 and 58: going on a big push and water rising
So I have to put 2 days into 1 post because of battery life and reception. Also I'll add pictures later.
Day 57. After waking up and running and swimming we headed around our first dike and picked up nice speed. Not that kind of speed. Anyway after talking about how Paul walker died and how cool fast and furious was all day we ran into a girl that said Erik looked like Paul walker and wanted a picture, she was wearing a nickel mouse hat and had to be in her 20s, we won't ask questions. This was in the town of Helena, whichever is a girl a used to date from philly, so I had to keep an open mind about this town. I guess this weekend is their blues fest which is a huuuuuge deal for them. Wish we could have stayed but we gotta get to new orleans before Halloween. After picking up supplies for the last time for 160 miles we saw a chicken running around as free as feeling in the wind. Hope to see more of that. But ya we ate some good sweet potato pie a d got another 20 miles this day. Try easy.
Day 58.
Obviously I woke up or else I wouldn't be writing this. Then we literally just paddled all day, 50 miles to be exact. The current was fast, and I also ate peanut butter and pineapple, which if you don't know is the great est way to gain power and stamina.
But ya some barges went by and we're camped on a beach trying to make fire because we are almost out of propane fuel.
I realized today that I feel like I constantly have the window seat on an airplane.
Also there are snake tracks all over this beach, hopefully it's a water moccasin.
